Manufacturing Careers

We are seeking production employees with all levels of experience who are interested in learning a new industry and building a career with a local company. Successful candidates are reliable, hardworking, and team-oriented. Manufacturing experience strongly preferred.

Potential Job Functions

  • Move and lift molds, concrete panels, or other materials by hand or using forklifts, overhead cranes, or other material handling equipment
  • Operate casting, cutting, drilling and/or spraying machinery and equipment to support production processes
  • Read and interpret fabrication drawings for custom panels
  • Use tools to measure panels, equipment, and parts
  • Record manufacturing data using computer (ERP) system
  • Clean and maintain work areas and equipment

Physical Requirements

  • Constant use of hands and arms in lifting, pushing, pulling, gripping materials
  • Exertion of sufficient force to lift, push, pull or carry objects
  • Walking up and down stairs, balancing, crouching and stooping
  • Standing for 8 or more hours every day
  • Must be able to lift 60 lbs
  • Read and listen to instructions
  • Wear eye, hearing, hand and foot protection
  • Work in an industrial work environment which can be hot, cold, dusty, wet, and/or noisy

Staff Careers

We currently have an opening for an Automation Controls Engineer on our Research and Development team, working with research scientists, industrial designers, equipment engineers, and fabricators, to develop and implement machine and process concepts and continually improve manufacturing efficiencies. The position responsibilities included creating and supporting robust system architecture and optimizing layout electrical/pneumatic schematics, programing and troubleshooting all controls components such as PLC, safety devices, HMI, servo drives, and process hardware from power-on to debug, providing training, support and leadership for cross-functional problem-solving activities and methods.  

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience in controls engineering and enjoyment of innovative problem-solving in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial manufacturing environment.  In addition, he/she will be a systems-thinker, who is exceptionally well organized, has meticulous attention to detail and procedure, and enjoys both hands-on involvement and working in a collaborative, team environment. This position will be based in Turtle Creek, PA with no travel requirements.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Participate in initial equipment conceptual development and carefully balance product specifications, process control requirements layout complexity, cost, quality, and lead-time limits.
  • Design and layout new industrial electrical control panels and create electrical and fluid schematics.
  • Architect, write, and debug PLC code with an emphasis on generating code that is organized, structured, documented, maintainable, and reusable.
  • Generate aesthetically simple HMI screens for complex machinery while providing sufficient feedback for troubleshooting.
  • Select and size electrical and electro-mechanical components such as servos, encoders, lasers, starters, and a variety of electrically controlled actuators.
  • Introduce automated processes into production, and train and Maintenance and Production Teams to support after deployment into production.
  • Characterize and validate new automated process equipment for deployment into production
  • Debug and optimize automated processes to maximize cycle time, improve availability, and yield.

Position Requirements:

  • BS/MS Electrical Engineering, Controls and Computer Control Systems, Mechatronics Engineering, Automation Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience as a hands-on Automation Controls Engineer working on high volume automation and/or electro-mechanical production systems.
  • Proficiency programming automated manufacturing equipment. Must have experience with ladder logic and function block programming, Human Machine Interface software, and serial and Ethernet communication between PLCs, instruments, and database systems.
  • Proficiency selecting appropriate circuit protectors, wire and cable, sensors, safety hardware, PLC hardware, remote I/O, VFD and servo systems.
